Community Health

Viva Life!, BAME CDC’s Community Health program promotes healthy lifestyles, provides information enabling community residents to maintain or improve their independence, and educates our local residents about improving their physical and emotional well-being.

Our Community Health program offers a wide range of health, healthy living, and personal and financial safety topics tailored to all residents. A sampling of programs includes: heart health, breast and cervical cancer, nutrition and cooking classes, children health, and support groups; methods for coping with chronic conditions like Alzheimer’s disease and diabetes; medication management; and consumer protection.

Career Financial Advancment Center (CFAC)

The CFAC is a career and personal financial service center that focuses on the financial bottom line for the lower income individuals. The focus involves changing people's financial behavior in a way that encourages them to make a long term commitment to increasing income, decreasing expenses and debt, and acquiring assets.

Neighborhood Development

We believe that a beautiful community appearance adds to home values, helps attract business investments, and just improves the neighborhood reputation over all. We organize neighborhood cleanups and beautification projects for low-income seniors that own and occupy their homes.

Our neighborhood cleanups are one-day events that occur several times in the spring, summer and fall. Cleanups allow our residents to get rid of hard to dispose of items at NO cost. Working together can make a difference in our neighborhoods and our city.

Small Business Development

BAME CDC working in partnership with SCORE and other community organizations, to provide FREE management and technical assistance and affordable training in all phases of business development in Greater Logan Heights business corridor. The program assists entrepreneurs and local businesses in the solution of their problems, which leads to increased profitability, cultivate small business success and increased investment and job creation for the community. BAME does that by providing the following:

  • Central Village Business Association (CVBA)
  • Mentor Protégé Program
  • Upcoming Trainings
